Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
The prostate gland is required for the production of sperm. It is situated below the male bladder, and the urethra threads through it.
It is normally the size of a walnut. Benign enlargement often occurs with aging (40% in men over 50 years old, and 75% in men over 70).
The main issue with prostate enlargement is narrowing of the urethra causing numerous urinary symptoms.
